Today they are where they are needed most, ICTV’s Facts narrate in their new report on the Pirogov First Volunteer Mobile Hospital.
On the eve of the Day of Medical Worker, ICTV’s Facts broadcast a special report from the front lines about the Pirogov First Volunteer Mobile Hospital – “people who do not spare themselves, their time and efforts, and often under fire in the Anti-Terrorist Operation Zone save lives of Ukrainian warriors and ordinary people.”
About doctors called “white-gowned angels” by locals.
President Petro Poroshenko has awarded orders and medals to 47 medical workers, including 12 doctors and paramedics of the Pirogov First Volunteer Mobile Hospital. One more PFVMH medic was given an honorary title of Distinguished Doctor of Ukraine.
Although the Defense Ministry confesses that it lacks nearly half of required medical personnel at the front, volunteer doctors of the Pirogov First Volunteer Mobile Hospital are forced to treat Ukrainian warriors only during their leaves due to the position of the Health Ministry. In addition, they risk to lose their jobs or even freedom – as “spies who stole into the territory of military units.”
As part of a tour in support of the Pirogov First Volunteer Mobile Hospital, an exhibition/sale/concert “Buy Icon – Save Lives” was held on May 30 in the Austrian capital.
