A trailerful of homemade preserves from villagers of Postolne and Chervone, Sumy Oblast, has been delivered to the location of the 30th Guards Mechanized Brigade and distributed among its positions. The boxes with food also contained touching letters and children’s drawings for warriors, anesthesiologist and resuscitation expert of the Pirogov First Volunteer Mobile Hospital (PFVMH) Maryna Bilinska reported.

On Oct. 30, the Pirogov First Volunteer Mobile Hospital (PFVMH) completed its 19th mission, which lasted from Oct. 1. During this period, 24 volunteer medics provided medical aid to over 2,200 patients in hospitals of Luhansk Oblast’s Novoaydar, Schastya, Stanytsya Luhanska and Popasna and Donetsk Oblast’s Volnovakha, as well in four village paramedic stations in these oblasts. During missions in the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) zone, many colleagues of doctors from the Pirogov First Volunteer Mobile Hospital (PFVMH) – and eventually their patients – become surprised to learn that the volunteer medics do not derive any additional benefit from their activities in the East. What they are only eligible for is their regular salaries reserved for them at their permanent places of work. What is more, at their “permanent places of work” they do not have to dwell in hospitals or even trench shelters, go to bed to the accompaniment of shell bursts, and manually do their laundry in cold water.

Last night, doctors of the Pirogov First Volunteer Mobile Hospital (PFVMH) became active participants in turning a wasteland plot in Stanytsya Luhanska into an orchard, as reported by the leader of the PFVMH team that works at the local Central District Hospital on the mobile hospital’s 19th mission.

Online publication Apostrophe has published an extensive interview with Oleksandr Klymenko, in which the artist told about the art project “Icons on Ammo Boxes” and shared his views of the situation in Ukraine and the world in connection with the Russian aggression.
The project, which has already brought UAH 1 million in sold icons over one year and a half, was initiated by Oleksandr together with artists Sofia Atlantova and Natalia Volobuyeva. In cooperation with the Pirogov First Volunteer Mobile Hospital (PFVMH) the project was implemented under the name of “Buy an Icon – Save a Life.”

Warriors of the 30th Guards Mechanized Brigade have received nearly 20 tons of food collected in Vinnytsya Oblast’s Orativ District and delivered to the brigade’s location by the action’s initiator– Ruslan Karimullin, student at the Vinnytsya National Medical University.

A unique mechanism has been developed in Ukraine for involving civil medics in filling vacancies in the Armed Forces. However, its implementation faces resistance from insignia-adorned bureaucrats, according to speakers at the first session of a Public Health Forum, which was held on the 7-B platform on the initiative of the executive secretary of the National Medical Chamber of Ukraine, Serhiy Kravchenko, and attended by Gennadiy Druzenko, cofounder and leader of the Pirogov First Volunteer Mobile Hospital (PFVMH), who is also an advisor to the acting Health Minister of Ukraine.

On late night of Oct. 15, Russian terrorists extended their traditional “truce shelling” to central parts of Popasna, Luhansk Oblast, including the Central District Hospital, which was far away from the positions of the Ukrainian army. Surgeon Dmytro Pozharsky and anesthesiologist Viktor Belilovets, doctors of the Pirogov First Volunteer Mobile Hospital (PFVMH), who are in the East as part of its 19th mission, have reported on what happened that night.

The project “Pirogov First Volunteer Mobile Hospital” (PFVMH) was first presented two years ago, just on the Feast of the Intercession, Oct. 14. At the time, according to Dzerkalo Tyzhnya, few besides its founders believed that they would be able to create in Ukraine a real hospital having everything: equipment, instruments, drugs, and a team of highly skilled professionals willing to provide medical care in the Anti-Terrorist Operation Zone. Having enthusiasm alone is not enough for this – you also need adequate financial, material, and human resources.
