The final destination of the joint voyage to Donbas by doctors of the Pirogov First Volunteer Mobile Hospital and Den correspondents Valentyn Torba and Arten Slipachuk was the city of Popasna. They have already been there, staying overnight with medics in the local hospital’s basement last summer.

During his third rotation with the Pirogov First Volunteer Mobile Hospital, surgeon Vadym Kozlovsky from Smela, Cherkasy Oblast, provided medical care to about 100 patients, one third of whom were servicemen, and performed 30 surgeries. He said he has been working at the Popasna Central District Hospital, Luhansk Oblast, since Jan. 30, 2017.

Two medics of the Pirogov First Volunteer Mobile Hospital, vascular surgeon Vladyslav Horbovets and nurse Alina Narahan, have become heroes of a story by Oleksandr Yaroschuk published in Ukrainska Pravda. Zhyttya. They joined the PFVMH in 2015, worked together a few months, and helped hundreds of soldiers and civilians recover after fierce battles.

When you first meet Ihor, when you hear how all people around call him Buyvol, you do not experience any cognitive dissonance. His stature and behavior imply the strength, confident rush, and imperturbability that seem to be characteristic of a buffalo, which is buyvil in Ukrainian and buyvol in Russian. That is why he was nicknamed like this, wasn’t he? However, as happens so often, the first impression is too simplified, and further acquaintance with Ihor reveals a person much more complicated and rich spiritually: industrious, curious, smart, and persistent, a faithful friend and a patriot.

The Pirogov First Volunteer Mobile Hospital and the Spravedlyvist movement demand to stop discriminating volunteer participants in the war in Eastern Ukraine and immediately amend the Law of Ukraine “On the Status of War Veterans and Guarantees of their Social Protection.” This initiative was announced by PFVMH President Gennadiy Druzenko and Spravedlyvist leader Valentyn Nalyvaychenko at their joint news conference today in the Gorshenin Institute.

Вони регулярно циркулюють між містами на лінії фронту як для допомоги постраждалим, так і для забезпечення лікарень усім необхідним. Джерела? Волонтерські. Сьогодні ввечері до Києва повертається четвірка дитячих лікарів Першого добровольчого мобільного шпиталю ім. Миколи Пирогова, що протягом дводенної місії в Попасній на Луганщині провели профілактичний огляд 295 дітей місцевих шкіл і дитячих садочків. Крім того, на консультації до київських лікарів мами приводили й дітей, які не ходять до школи чи дитсадочка, або ходять до закладів, які за два дні цій команді медиків-добровольців охопити не вдалося.
