During the second special mission of the Pirogov First Volunteer Mobile Hospital in Luhansk Oblast’s Popasna, seven PFVMH doctors have examined 436 children in four days. According to pediatric surgeon Serhiy Petryk, these children are pupils of one preschool and three general education schools. “In addition, we’ve also examined about 20 children who do not go to these institutions. We began every morning by examining such ‘unplanned kids’ brought independently by their parents to the hospital where we lived,” he said.

On Tuesday night, medics of the Pirogov First Volunteer Mobile Hospital helped stabilize and evacuate four servicemen who had been injured in a fire. As reported by the PFVMH current rotation commander, Ihor Buyvol, the fire resulted from an explosion on March 21 in a house in the Troyitske village, Luhansk Oblast, in which the Ukrainian servicemen were quartered. He said he does not know what was the cause of the explosion.

According to the Verkhovna Rada (Ukrainian Parliament) portal, the draft law on amending the Law of Ukraine “On the Status of War Veterans and Guarantees of their Social Protection” was yesterday handed to MPs for familiarization. Thirteen MPs had acted as initiators of the bill, drafted by the Pirogov First Volunteer Mobile Hospital in collaboration with the Ombudswoman’s office. The document had been registered with the Verkhovna Rada on March 16, 2017 under #6202.

Today in Luhansk Oblast’s Popasna, a team within the Pirogov First Volunteer Mobile Hospital carried out a preventive examination on 96 pupils of the city’s largest preschool, the spearhead of such “pediatric landing parties” reported.

Yesterday, doctors of the Pirogov First Volunteer Mobile Hospital gave consultations to patients in the Hranitne village outpatient facility, Donetsk Oblast, one of the doctors, Ihor Paliychuk, reported. He said about 15 patients aged two to 85 years were examined. The oldest one was treated for hygroma removal, and the radial bone was set in the right elbow of a five-year-old girl.

Today, the president of the Pirogov First Volunteer Mobile Hospital, Gennadiy Druzenko, received a very warm letter from Luhansk Oblast. The family of Oleksandr and Klavdia Zadorozhnys from Petropavlivka, Stanytsya Luhanska District, express their gratitude to surgeon Iryna Yosypenko, one of the PFVMH’s doctors, who worked at the Petropavlivka Hospital during the PFVMH February mission. Their letter is probably the best illustration of what the PFVMH calls “stitching up the country.”

Members of the Pirogov First Volunteer Mobile Hospital were indignant to learn about the sentencing of their Belarusian blood brother – trade union activist Andrey Stryzhak – to 10-day arrest. According to the court of Gomel’s Central District, Andrey Stryzhak participated in an “unauthorized action” that tool place on Feb. 21, 2017 on the steps of this very court. Even the defendant’s absence during the proceedings did not prevent the adjudication.

Today, the Presidential Commission on Citizenship decided to move a proposal for the Head of State to grant citizenship of Ukraine to Olga Simonova, a Russian national who under contract with the Armed Forces of Ukraine is defending our country against the Russian aggression. Now the ball is in the field of President Poroshenko.

Volunteer doctors appeared in Ukraine even before volunteer warriors, Medprosvita (“Medical Education”) stated in a story published last night and dedicated to the newly-established holiday – Day of Ukrainian Volunteer. The story specially cites the Pirogov First Volunteer Mobile Hospital, “which was able to not only pull like-minded volunteers together but also put volunteer doctors’ assistance on the official track.”

The terrorists have thrice hit residential districts of Avdiyivka, Donetsk Oblast, over the weekend, according to a report by Andriy Tsapliyenko shown by TSN.Week on March 12, 2017. However, the city suffering of the shelling features a real baby boom. Even women who failed to become pregnant before now conceive and give birth. The local hospital’s doctors have had to deliver them in the basement by candlelight.
